Certain mistakes are very common when it comes to sending emails. It can be quite embarrassing if you tell someone that you have attached a file but you actually forgot to do so, especially if it contains important data. If this is one of your habits, CheckSend will help you remember the attachments. It will also warn you if the recipient's address is wrong or if you type something that you are not supposed to. The principle behind the application is simple, but very useful. Its different notifications are based on a series of keywords, which you can define yourself.

The system requirements are not high and you can install the applications in a few moments. CheckSend integrates with MS Outlook, so the mail client is the only requirement you have to meet. There is no need to make any specifications about Outlook during the setup process. All you have to do is install CheckSend like any other application and you will find its functions the next time you run Outlook.

The application launches automatically when you run Outlook. You will find a new option, on Outlook's toolbar, which brings up CheckSend's tabbed settings menu. There are three different warnings to enable or disable and you may configure them on separate tabs. Setting up the address watcher involves compiling two lists of email addresses. The watcher will notify you if the recipient's address matches an item from one list or if it does not match an item from the second list. With the address watcher activated and configured, if you type the wrong address or if you want to avoid sending a certain email to someone, the software will warn you of your mistakes.

All warning features are configured the same way. You just have to add keywords to one or more lists. The content watcher works the same way as the address watcher, but it will warn you if you type specific words in your message. If you forget who is the recipient and you type something he might not appreciate, the software will remind you to think twice before sending the message.

Another useful feature is the software's attachment reminder. Again, you need to add keywords to a list. If you type those words into your message and forget to attach your files, CheckSend will warn you. For example, you can insert keywords like "attachment" or "attached". If you type "please find the attached file" and you forget to attach something, the software will remind you that no files are attached to your message. You may also specify how many attachments your signature contains. If CheckSend detects a mistake, it will not prevent you from sending the message. It will notify you of the situation and it will ask if you want to send the message anyway.

Pros

CheckSend can warn you of certain mistakes when you send an email. Configuring the application involves adding a few keywords to different watch lists. The application can be installed fast, without going through complex settings.

Cons

Apart from MS Outlook, CheckSend does not support other mail clients. If you are about to send an email to the wrong person, type something you are not supposed to or forget to attach files, CheckSend will notify you of your mistakes before sending your message.
